All in the Details

I've always been impressed by Erica's photography over at Caught On A Whim. After she did a post on her photography techniques,  I decided to copy her and got some foam board! I set it up pretty much the same as her-- I put the boards on a chair next to a window so I could get some natural light. The shadows are a bit harsher than what I wanted so I think next time I will do this later in the afternoon or evening. I was just so excited to try it out so I grabbed some stuff from my room-- a thrifted elephant ash tray/soon-to-be planter, a bracelet from Charming Charlie, two Christmas ornaments from Confetti System's partnership with  West Elm, and two cute glasses. Overall I'm really pleased with how these practice photos turned out!!

While I've got you, you should check out my write-up on one of my new favorite blogs, Studio 336! Also, on Happy Pretty Things! Hmm, I'm thinking maybe I should do one of those "meet the sponsors" posts next month. What do you guys think? And if you're interested in becoming a sponsor, check out my info HERE! I love ad swaps so just email me at mackenzie(at)heybirdfriend(dot)com to set yours up!!
